Barry, when you come over at xmas time i will give you a shot in the arm of POMMEY oil that will make strong for turning the steering wheel. ;D

The 6V53 was a GM engine and GM owned Bedford. Bedford had their own 500 diesel but pretty useless. I wrote an article in the Monitor about them once but Dave was probably the only one who read it.

Thanks for the info. I knew GM made and error in judgement back in history and got tangled up with Bedford but didnt realise the engine division was involved also.
I share your feelings about the Bedford diesel.

Excuse me i had a working Bedford with a 466 and which was a very good motor it also had a 5sp Turner gear box this truck was a 11ton 18 foot tray. ;)

I know you blokes would love hear what my dream project would be well i have dream of owning a "E" Type Jaguar and of corse it has to be a V 12 .
