When I was about 17 I was told if you mixed them you would get drunk.
I don't think there was any truth in it, but if you did the hangover wouldn't be too bad.

When I started out in mid 60's a lot of the older blokes used these powders with coke. Cheaper than Methedrine! I never tried it,
I never knew them well enough to see the long term effects but my Squadron Sergeant Major in the Army was absolutely addicted to Vincents powders (a known side effect) and wolfed down - dry - as many as 10 powders a day. Needless to say he died at 50 of kidney failure.

My first wife's father lost an arm in WWII and had a smoke and Vincent Powder each morning before he got out of bed.
He died of Kidney failure in the early 60's.
Nasty stuff.

An old copper I worked with in the 70s went through a packet of Peter Stuyvesant soft pack and a packet of Vincents, dry, each 8 hour shift. The most laid-back bloke I ever new.
Lost track of him, so can't comment on his longevity but wouldn't expect it to be astounding.
