that g88 volvo was it one of bill featherstones from albury they were located in 1086 mate st albury and were selling them aswell the sales blokes name was howard mason in those days my dad was going to buy one it had a sleeper and a splitter on the dash changed his mind and brought a mack working for cubico in bell st preston matt obrien brought the first one in albury followed by clive phillips in wodonga pulling a van for fridgemobile

That is a Shepparton truck I took that photo at my workplace, Midstar motors around late seventies we had a truck auction on that weekend

Does anyone know about F88' in Aus. According to Volvo there were only ever 50 'UK type" (what the poms called the 290) imported but I have seen pictures of others. I have got hold of one as cab chassis and eventually got the original motor (in pieces) to go with it. The G88 had a TD100A while the imported UK type had (supposedly) a TD100B. However mine is a TD100BD, and seems to be a short TD100A with B ancillaries

Cab looks fairly sound too. I see it has the spotter window in the passenger door which was a factory option not seen very often.
