Inter Scout was created by GM Diesel
Hey Scout man, what year is your wagon. My old man had a 76 Scout traveller. We had a 65 scout ute with the 4 banger in it for awile to but she wasnt much chop. Got replaced with a landrover which I reckon was worse.
I'd like to have the pair of them now !

I've got two '78 Travelers. The one in my icon is my daily driver. It's pretty original with 345 V8 on gas and tourqueflite tranny.
The other one I'm turning into a ute (Terra). The engine (also 345) needs a rebuild and it's got a 4 speed manual box.
I remember seeing the Scouts parked in the Whitehorse International yard on the corner of Springvale and Whitehorse road when I was 18 or 19 and thinking they looked too American for my taste. Little did I know that 20 years later I would buy one and think it was better than sliced bread! :

Baz,
I know of one over here in NSW which has been repowered with a Silver 3-53T Detroit Diesel engine and an Isuzu 6 speed gearbox! I think I have a picture of it somewhere - I will place it here if I do!

Sounds like an interesting conversion. I've seen a c1300 4wd with little Jimmy in it. Better than a Landcruiser

Dennis,
I've never seen them with any type of Detroit Diesel before this one - mate, it'd leave newer 4WD's for dead up on very steep climbs! Them little "Screamin' Demons" have excellent low down grunt!!!
Joe
PS: I'm in the market for a 4-71NA Fan to Flywheel Detroit Industrial!
