Tomorrow morning we're off to check out the Bedford TK that lives on the property we've bought. I've heard some good things from some locals about the truck so am very keen to see and hear more of her. Come about this time tomorrow, we will have hopefully kept her where she belongs. Will post pics over the weekend.

Without letting the cat out of the bag, Barry is away today organising his latest acquisition. Pics will also be posted soon. The Forum "family" grows! ;D

Might as well have! To be honest, though, the first thing that really hit home about the place was walking from the "garage" shed to the house and looking over the garden at the view. Hadn't even been in the house and I was sold! After that, the inspection of the sheds was just a bonus.

More the question did you choose the truck or the property? Must be the most expensive purchase price of a TK Bedford ever!

Good deal however if they put the property into the deal for free! ;D

I wish, JB.

Should be a nice place to live. Every time we've been there it's been very peaceful (I may have to apologise in advance for some of the visitors we'll get...ie you lot) and the neighbours all get together for a street party at Christmas so it'll be nice to live in a real community again.

Andy, that jigger brings back distant memories of the first driving job that I got was with F.H. Stephens on Footscray Rd, had a brand new trailer license in me pocket and the only thing that they would let me drive, was one of them jiggers.
Doing P/Ups and deliveries around Melb was not much fun, had to start somewhere though, but I got a laugh one day, they told me to put on a pallet of boxes full of boiled lollies. Chucked a rope over the top and set sail, rounded a corner next a primary school and the boxes moved under the rope and away went some boxes all over the road. Lunch time at the school when it happened a scream went up and that school yard was emptied with-in seconds, didn't bother stopping as the road was cleaned up in moments.
Delivered the pallet and never said a word and was never queried about it either, different world back in them days, they just signed for it and away I went.
Used to do the baggage run from Princess pier to the bond stores, this was for all them ten pound pommies, who came over here on the ships. Picked up the large baggage so it could be stored and then the customs checked it, then it could be picked up by the owners. Made a smart remark to the fellas on the gate at the pier about a bit of grass secreted away in the truck, two hours later after a total search, they let me go, never made that mistake again, kept me dumb mouth shut.
