I don't normally collect photos of truck accidents, and this one was a fatality, but the landing position was rather unusual.

Well, the millions of dollars of taxpayer (yours and mine) money wasted on the stupid little wire fences did not do much to help this poor fellow.
The bueaurocrats will still claim their fences that prevent vehicles from pulling off the road safely and prevent emergency vehicle access to properties are "helping to save lives."

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

pretty rare to see super singles on a trailer in Aus these days, likewise the axle spacing

Wire rope barriers aren't for trucks or motorcycles, only for cars that run off the road...

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

A local bike rider had his leg cut off by the rope a few years back. They are only good for small cars.

It is rare to see an upside down rig but saw
one about 2013, also a fatal. it was 2 trailers loaded with cement blocks. The whole rig upside down. Got hit in the front steer by a car, car was not to bad and that driver OK.

On the wire rope, believe the original design was for lane dividers to prevent head-ons. Supposed to throw the vehicle back to it's own side.
The freeway here in Pert has a mix of wire and concrete, the concrete is used near bridge supports. Guess they know the wire is no good to save the bridges. Don't know the cost difference to install but the amount of wire they have to repair constantly I would hazard a guess and say concrete is cheaper in the long run.
And a lot of that wire is NOT installed to standards.

Cheers Steve
