Yep, I did notice the bonnet ornament, but you don't drive around with the hood in the up position.

Swishy, you are most welcome to use the photos. I would have thought you would have seen enought of this truck by now . I did notice the spring covers, in fact it was the first thing I noticed. In fairness to Mick and the tin snips, he was doing some maintenace at the time.

Hhmmm, strange things these spring covers, it appears that Rolls Royce used that same idea about the 1910 period. The idea was to fill the leather cover with grease, then sew them up tight over the springs, this deadened the squeaking noises of the spring leafs rubbing together.
Weird aint it, hang around long enough and the wheel turns full circle, eh. :
