Acco accident

Acco accident was created by Inta ACCOs
I took these photos yesterday on a farm nearby. I've only heard the story second hand but the Acco driver turned wide going onto the right side of the road so that he could turn left into a paddock. Apparently he had his indicator on.

Another truck right up his arse coudln't work out what he was doing and effectively tried to pass (by staying on the left) as the Acco was about to turn left. The rear truck hit the left side of the Acco cab pretty badly as you can see.

Who's at fault?

The guy who hit him should have been far more cautious but if I 'd seen a truck right behind me in that situation I would have slowed down and left him overtake properly before I attempted a wide turn. A lot of accidents seem to happen on quiet rural roads.

Guy behind should have been keeping his distance anyway like any good truck driver should!

the rear truckie was a soft c.ck .. a impatient dropkick by the sounds of it,isnt the law for heavy vehicles 60m distance, anyway at the least he owes the acco driver a new passenger side mirror

Tiz easy being an armchair Judge n Jury
LOL
In sum parts people bung the right indicator on to let the followeee get out n pass even ifn its just for a few cliks
but he also could had right indicator on to move out wide
then chuck the lefty on to do the wide turn
But I'd Guess the Accco driver didn't use mirrors or didnlt relise he twaz being followed
any body in there right mind would check for traffic B 4 attempting the move as described above
most would pull to the left to get rid of any traffic so they could/would have all the Rd 2 themselves

ButEyeDoSt&2BCorrected

But it should buff right out!

Replace TK with Ford D and it'd be a bit more accurate, Baz! TK would never have anything behind it as it would have been overtaken ages ago! How's that for logic? :D ;D

Not Judge and Jury but often executioner.....

its is a simple case of an illegal overtake on the left.... no ifs or buts, fine of about $350 I think, then let the insurance companies work it out .... they might pay half!!!!

It shows the strength of the old ACCO shed, lucky our man got away with that.
By the way, ACCO is an abbreviation and deserves capital letters. Even IVECO get this wrong sometimes so you will be forgiven this time, Cheers Pete

In my book ( pardon the pun) its Australian C - Line Cab Over. Inters used that in their advertising at one stage sO I reckon that has to be right. But some people have other ideas.
I think Inters were interested in doing a Cab Over ( apart from the Army business ) for several reasons .. It gave a longer tray, got more weight onto the front axle and people didnt like the ALC and ARC models because of poor access to the engine.
There is a lot in common with the Blitz on the Army Inters, that came from the Army spec.
