May not end up with any of the bits from this truck as it has just been identified as a very very rare 1926 SL underslung International.
So truck may now stay in one piece in the US.

Andy - Underslung axles have the springs mounted on the underside of the axle, overslung axles have the spring mounted on top of the axle. Nearly all early vehicles were overslung .. underslung was a radical alteration to design, that lowered the vehicle substantially.
However, underslung designs were notoriously difficult to sell in an era when high ground clearance was necessary, because the roads were generally poor. Once roads improved substantially, underslung designs became de riguer.
A different slant - the 1913 American Underslung .. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Underslung

Ron has already answered the question, in 1926 & 27 prior to the SL-34 International offered the SL with the underslung axle to allow a much lower centre of gravity they were used a lot on Friar Trucks and buses the SL was the only vehicle in the International range to offer this feature, talking with a couple of people in the states that have been around the 1920 stuff for the last 20-30 years they have seen very few of these trucks still around as most of the city trucks were scrapped a long time ago.
I will get a much better picture of the suspension set up on this truck so you can have a look at it.

Hi, if only getting stuff from the states was easier. A cummins engine for my C Line, Philadelphia to Melb, sounded easy, until $ for this $ for that, now I am sitting back hoping to find someone to share costs with for a container etc. I have contacted several freight forwarders, they don!t seem interested in a one of shipment.. If anyone can give me a clue or two, --please..

Thanks again, Trev. Those shots are perfect. I take it the spring above the rear axle on the underslung jobby is to stop a decent bang to the chassis.

Ok
Have finally got all the bits together now to sort out best way to get them home, have a few options but just have to work out what is best/easiest.
This is what i have got to come back all weights are pounds as per my mate Mike in Colarado.
I re-weighed every thing today.
Headlamps 8#
Dizzy's 4#
Motor Mount 3.5#
Windscreen side frames 12.25#
Windscreen hinges 3.25#
Windscreen glass frame 5.75
Ignition switch .5#
Coil bracket 1.25#
Rim side rings 24.5#
Rim #1 15.25#
Rim #2 16.5#
Radiator Surround 8.25#
Radiator 40# (appears to be somewhat lighter inside must have been wet still)
_______________________________
Total Parts to be shipped 143#
I stacked the parts on a pallet two different ways.
Rims nested with rings on outside, next to radiator would need crate with inside dimension 28" X 45" X 10"
Rims nested on bottom with radiator on top of them. this would need crate with inside dimension of 36" X 24" X 18"
This is them stacked to try and figure out which way is best to pack them still need to add weigh for boxing them up.
Must admit it has been wonderfull and easy so far having another IH nut helping getting all the bits together, cleaned and primed ready for shipping.
Andy
The overload springs are there for when they would load em up to the max, mine has also got them but i had not put them on in the picture above.
