My little Terrier was created by Eddy
Here she be.
4.4 V8, 5 speed Turner(?) Box, Air over Hydraulic brakes, Sitting on rollerskate 8.25r16s

Motor has been rebuilt, as was the clutch.

Tray has sheet steel over the old jarrah boards. Loking from underneath I'd say the boards are knackered, so I'll probably replace them with some Hardwood plyboard

Be it firearms or V8 engines, the question is not "why should you have them?"
, but "who are you to demand that I justify them?"

Great truck Eddy! It sounds like other than the deck it is in great condition.

You are right about describing the wheels as rollerskates ;D. Is that standard size for this truck?

Had'er 8 years. 8.25r16 standard size tyres, option was 8.25x20.

For a while I ran her on 9.00r20s on the back and the 16s on front (coz I'm short two 20" rims) & she cruised along quite nice with 3-4 tonnes on board. The 9.00s can kiss a bit on the skinny rims if the pressure gets down, but they ok at 90 psi.

Poor baby been sitting here sulking for a while with a sticker on the windscreen, acquired when a "friend" of my brother's borrowed it and somehow managed to get himself noticed by the boys.

Just got a couple little jobs left & I can get it off and back on the road.

Planning on a full build in a couple years, after the shed's done. Half thinking of doing a replica of the '77 London To Sydney Marathon truck

oh ... and ...

I'm in Waikerie, SA

Good stuff, Eddy. Forgive my ignorance but what does the 1977 London to Sydney Marathon truck look like? Haven't seen pics of her nor heard of her involvement.

Not 100% sure. Was talk of it going back to BL's museum after a publicity tour of Oz...

I been googling it on & off for a couple years and no result yet.

Eddy

Have you come across this?

www.1977londontosydney.com/coppermine/index.php

Most importantly:
www.1977londontosydney.com/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=77

Entrant Coca Cola Australia
Vehicle Leyland Terrier

Crew Allen Hausler Australian
Barry Allen Australian
Doug Francis Australian

Finished 33rd outright

I wonder if Coca Cola Australia would know anything about her. She also appears to be Australian-registered.
