Hey Swishter ... apart from the diesel, the spiders and the USA, Dennis qualifies as a REAL TRUCK! Thanks Mate! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Howdy,
It doesnt matter what you got, how its done or how much it cost.....for me its the people. $250,000 doesnt make a fella any better to have a fizzy with than a bloke with a straight out of the paddock gadget and an ABBA T shirt.
As far as how to restore something - If you want to do it bad enough it'll happen. Time you have to make and cash can be made pretty easy with a bit of buy and sell...of legal things
Basil

GM your right it is about the blokes you meet and their stories , when you said if you want it bad enought look at grenfell 34 bought a truck in the US drove it half way across the US striped it packed it in a box sent it home unpacked it blow it out & fitted a box put rego on it and was taking it too truckshows in six months ,he told me about the Hume run i had an old aerodyne with a 16in gumtree growing between the chassis rails i had to get the chainsaw out ,the truck was striped sometimes you need a little push to get a job done Cheers

Well I'm bloody glad there's a bloke who's prepared to wear the rent to keep a small fleet of significant old trucks safe and out of the weather.
Ok, he mightn't get to restore them all himself but at least they'll be in a good state for someone else to pick up the baton when he falls off the perch.
Calling it greedy .. what bloody ignorance.
It's a contribution to preserving some important history and he doesn't even have the cheek to call it a museum or charge admission as others would be wont to do.
