Well Sarge and I spent the morning trying to work out what airlines were burnt and how to get the truck started
2 1/2 hours later it seemed like we had achieved nothing but I disconected the altenator and the main power feed to the ignition and fired her up
Then drove her home mind u there were plent of air leaks as I was driving but the rad bothing to do with the brakes and clutch
We spent the rest of the day stripping the whole cab out and all that is left is a bare shell now
The smell of burnt platic is one that I will not forget in a long time
Going to take more than one of those air fresheners from the auto shop to get rid of the smell
Might just hit the cab with the stesm cleaner
hopefully Sarge will post some pics soon I should take some I guess
Anyway its back up to the workshop now to do some more work

burnt vinyl gives of some grease and soot and toxic fumes, it got better after the headache set in and the worst of the burnt stuff was removed. :o

We reckon there are about three hundred wires under the dash for a job that will be done by about ten.... watch this space. :-?

And dont talk about the rust.... well not actually rust....... holes where the rust used to be.... still I know a bloke who did a great job on my Acco. 8-) 8-)

Well I think I found the problem
Does anyone know which wire goes where ?????????

I guess on the srap bin where it is is the best spot

Yes there must be a big wire making plant in Sweeden I think the truck will have about 350 kgs less weight when we finish ripping the exess wire out
If anyone needs a couple of miles of wire I just happen to have some

Well its been a while since I was last on here
Sarge and I worked our butts off over xmas and in just 2 weeks this is what we achieved
cut out the rust aroundd the winscreen and made up new sills
made new floor pans for both sides
ended up making my own wiring loom went from a loom 2 inches thick to one that is an inch everything seems to work better now all the extra wires have been removed
its been 3 months now since it burnt and u just cant get rid of the smell of burnt plastic
took the truck up to tamworth for its maden voyag at the start of jan
I had been having trouble with the centre bearing which i had replaced befor xmas first on lasted 20 kms so they replaced it 9with a new one but had a bad vibration in the tailshaft and the mechanic blamed everthing other than his work
well by the time I had got to forbes the fuel tank had broken off the chassis so a quick fix with a raychet tie down and kept on my way
by the time I got to tamworth I couldnt get into 7 or 8th gear the shifter had come off the gear box and my tailshaft was juat about ready to drop out
dropped it off at the local Iveco dealer who was more than willing to fix it
had a new tailshaft made and donated just over 4 gran to his xmas fund and the old girl is running better than new
