think the m'c grath has a couple a ton on it

Yeah, Knighty. Pommy, & 'bout the same vintage as the Beddy.
Oak Dairy at Hexham had a Fleet of trailers with those couplings ,as did Dairy Farmers at (I think) Penrith...
Mammoth'd be the Man to set this thing straight.......

Metro-Ice in Melbourne had them in the late 40's.I used to watch them hooking up at their depot across the road from my school in Errol St Nth Melbourne in about 1948-49.

Dairy Farmers Sydney also had them. They had a depot on the Cnr. of Grose and McCarthur Sts Parramatta. I served my apprenticeship opposite their depot. 1963 to 1968. They where on bonneted Bedfords

Notice how short the TK with the Scammell coupling is, I think KFA/KGA/KHA tractor units were 96" wheelbase. The S model with Scammell coupling was even shorter-SA-86" w.b.
