The beauty of a spread was that they stood up a lot better then a bogie, and yar Swishy, 37' was over length up here in 66, I think it was 34 or 35 feet then.( no one was geared for pallets)

Here are some pics of an old Freighter wide-spread that has been shortened to the 2mtr allowance. A pretty wild job but obviously met the required standard of the day.

oldfulla, the suspension on the green trailer is ETE which is Haulmark, wouldn't be surprised if they still had the bits. The trailer is a bit of a bitza isn't it. Looks like channel main beams which is unusual, and mark V Freighter axles on the ETE suspension.
