Hi all, Just wondering if any one know's if Fruehauf made a trailer with seperate sliding axles and hydraulic suspension like the Freighter set up, as i think i spotted one in a paddock recently? Thanks in advance, Debo.

Yes in Qld, Fruehauf was a very popular manufacturer of trailers with hydraulic equalisation/adjustable axle groups.

This has been a serious education for me. I know little about trucks in the great scheme of things but even less about trailers.

Jeffo, I am hopelessly in love with your LAD Leyland. Is she still around or long gone? Ergo's not bad either.

Now the Kiwis went a step further, a spread trailer that automatically tracked behind the prime mover in turns. No linkages or hydraulics, just clever steering geometry.

...pretty sure the cameron blokes didn't like them at all....and for whatever reason they didn't prove to be a success
