Ok Detective i have an update.
Finally had a chance to speak to Reggie and he knew the truck from way back then.
Was a big deal when new and big HP.
Huge motor was all he kept saying.
Also said it had a longer bonnet even though it doesnt show in the pic and i had not said so.
It worked out of Gero for about 4 yrs in the 70s.
Weight over the front axle was 7t at the time he said.
So even if it was found it cannot be regoed in WA because it exceeds the 6t limit now imposed.
Apparently the K19 are very heavy too and need to be in a twin steer to get rego.
He knows another old truckie he is going to call who may know more about it.
Dont like our chances to track it down but cant hurt to try.

Clarkie and Detective, memories can play funny tricks after a few years....i reckon you should still be right for weight over the front axle.
A 1693T goes 1.46 tonne, my 12V71 goes about 1.43 tonne and front axle goes over the scales at 5.5 tonne. Loaded it was well over and ran on permits a lot of the time.
Paccar made the extended scuttle or hood for the KTA, 1693 and 12V71, so there is a fair chance it would have the extended hood.
Cat. 1693T is 325hp @ 2,100, 1000 ft.lbs. @ 1,450, 14.6 lts.

Hey Detective, the Bellways truck in the back ground, did you get any happy snaps of that? And if you did, was it an SAR? Only reason I ask is another forum member has an ex-Bellways SAR and I'm sure he would love to see a pic of what it looked like when it was new.

;D ;D ;D...g'day rob .. we were being stingy as usual and only allowed ourselves one slide piccy of her...

...it didn't dawn on me to take a pic of the truck only.... being our ''round Australia oddysey'' in the old safari, didn't think it might be of interest to any of the mates or relo's when we came back and did a slide night :'( :'( :'(.....never mind ....cheers

...no other pics bigcam .. i'm pretty sure that was just a ''normal'' W model :o :o
