Lotsa double barrelled names going back cupla years,
Blair & Reiber,
Holsworth & Quigley,
Taylor Dalton,
Just to give a few, prolly many more could turn up.
One or two from same era,
Harry Powell Transport,
Kennerly's. (' Honest John')
Lotsa overnighters came and went, Dart, Rex, Caellis, Super Transport, Swift, some swallowed by the 'Big 4' of the days, TNT, Mayne Nickless, Ipec, Brambles, funny how they in turn went by the board.
Like, what happened to Bunkers after TNT reorganised?
Or Ansetts had a few permanent subbies from down around the border way, dont hear of them any more either.
Guess its what they call progress, transport names a bit like civilisations, they come, shine briefly and then confined to history.

Just sitting here going through the old threads as I often do. There's a lot of names in those pages which brings back slot of memories.
I suppose I could add Wollongong Metals, Wettenhalls, Mick McMillan and Santana to the list as well.
Hawkins Transport (Newcastle?) are a memory too. Mack had a windfall back in 1976 when Hawkins purchased 20 R600's for coal haulage around the Lake Macquarie area.
I see Hi-Speed cropping in the lists, aren't they now called Hi-Trans?

Might throw in Malones transport, had a lot to do with them in the past, the old man died thirty odd years ago ( could be more??) and the two boys Rod and grant sold off the business about eight years ago due to health reasons, it’s still running with a different owner
