1966 Ford K700 ~ 5.4L Diesel
Hello - new to forum was created by create
Hello to everyone. I have a 1966 Ford K700 truck. My father in law gave it to me in January. He purchased the truck in 1968.
I have it on historic rego and get out to regular club meets.
Does anyone else on this forum own a K series?

G'day create, & welcome.......
Mate, you have a pretty rare bird there I'd reckon...
I've only ever seen 2...........
I do however have a workshop Manual for both K & D series, as they shared all things mechanical..

My father in law thought it was worth nothing and was offered $500 for it in scrap metal. He was cleaning up his farm and trying to free it of scrap metal.
It didnt take very much to get it up and running and registered.

Unfortunatly, just because I think It's Rare,
Doesn't Mean It's valuable :'(
They where never all that common back in the day,
So I'd say definitely few & far between today..........
PS: Detective, Check create's Avatar Pic out

I think (as dangerious as that is) that 'shape' was first marketed under the Thames name - carrying on from the Thames Trader.
Then got the 'K' branding, I guess to match the other Fords of the time - like the 'F', 'D' & 'R' (Buses) series's.
From memory a lot of the running gear was 'D' series stuff. Probably the 'better' bits from the D series actually - which made them a pretty good thing in their day.
A very basic no frills unit they were. Not a lot of 'options' I dont think - like no big range of motors etc. Not a lot of trucks sold either.
I have an inkling that Ford bought them in as a 'filler' for quoters/balance of trade etc, so had no real interest in promoting them as they did the 'F' & 'D's'.
