OMG

Most of you seeing the above will immediately think that what follows is a religious item. NOT SO!

Amongst HCVCA members we hope that you now think Ovens Murrav Goulburn when you see this acronym.

Our Club continues to grow membership in the North and North Eastern parts of Victoria and Southern parts of New South Wales in particular. In fact we now have 102 Members from these regions with another dozen or so that are slowly renewing still for 2014-15.

Recognising that we need to provide some more "local" support for these members, our new President Allan Taylor and myself attended the recent AGM of the Club's Albury/Wodonga Branch to discuss expanding its activities and widen the catchment area for the branch. The guys were very receptive and they came up with a great new name — Ovens Murray Goulburn Branch which reflects the major river systems in these areas.

The new Branch Chairman Stephen "Speedy" Smith is based out of Glenrowan and will no doubt receive great support from renewing office-bearers Jason Hadson from near Wodonga and Stuart Birkin from near Albury.

To kick off the "localisation" of events, one of our Wangaratta members Wayne Morrison in conjunction with our Past President Russ Marshall started the ball rolling with the Wangaratta Lions Club and we have now agreed to hold an HCVCA display in February 2015 in conjunction with the Lions Swap Meet which is a huge event for the region and Wang' each year. The OMG Branch along with President Allan Taylor will be the lead for this display and it is hoped that it will be well attended by MANY HCVCA Members regardless of which state or area you are in — think Yarra Glen, think Clunes, think South Australia and now also think Wang for major events.

The OMG Branch are planning to hold its Quarterly Meetings in different locations going forward to give more members a chance of getting to them.

Look out for more news in future editions of The Monitor on Wang and OMG meetings. We will also do a direct mail to members in these regions so that Speedy and his team can get some direct feedback on what YOU would like. We hope that you support them.

Cheers
