The weather forecast is looking good for Bendigo and with vehicles coming from the HCVCA branches including South Australia it is looking like a good turn out for members.

At a special meeting of the HCVCA Committee last night, Monday the 18th July, after much discussion and with input from all present including representatives from SA branch, Vic North branch and Ballarat branch, it was agreed that the most prudent and morally responsible course to take was to postpone the 50th Anniversary celebration dinner planned for the Saturday night until this current wave of the new strains of Covid had passed or had at least been brought under control.

A separate email and phone calls are being made to inform people who had registered for the dinner to inform them of the changed circumstances and explain things in more details.

The Truck display at Bendigo Showgrounds will still go ahead on the Saturday, people are still welcome to come on Friday and camp or park up for Saturday. There will some food vans and coffee vendors on site during Saturday otherwise you will need to bring along your own supplies for lunch on the day.

However, remember there will not be any organised dinner so you will have to organise your own meals at a local restaurant or take away for the evening.

Sunday morning there will be some Bacon and Egg sandwiches available for breakfast from the HCVCA while elsewhere on the Showgrounds is a Sunday Market to browse around and find some breakfast and a few bargains for yourself.

For those attending enter via Holmes Rd, Gate 1(to the left of the main arena), and proceed along the boundary fence on your right to either the campground or for the Saturday display through the access gate halfway down the main straight near building 12, see Showground map. During the display vehicles will be parked on the hard track of the Main arena and, weather permitting light vehicles maybe be parked on the grass but that will be decided on the day, do not park there of your own accord.

Non members are welcome to attend and display their historic commercial vehicles on the Saturday along with the club members in the Main arena.

Please consider whether you should be there if you are not feeling well. If you decide to join in the event, please wear a mask, for your safety and for the safety of those around you.

Hope to see as many of you there over the Weekend as possible.
