Hello,

as asked and written, her comes a photo from an other platform.

Butch Hyslop (FB)

Maybe one of the users can help me to identify the total length, wheelbase and manufacturer of this refrigerated trailer.

The manufacturer plate/sign at the top of the trailer has probably 12 letters, it's not good to read.....

Only a thought: can it be an imported american trailer?

Looks like an early 1970s Frieghter to me. Definitely a “g” in the nameplate on the front. Can’t make out any other letters though.

I’m guessing these vans would have been made in the early-mid 70’s so imo the fridge motors definitely would have been made in the USA , but unable to say that the trailers were or not made here but Aussies are a pretty smart bunch !! One of the good ol boys may know more .
if it was my banga in the 70’s I’d be proud to hang that picture on my wall, Jim

I'm pretty sure that the Wallsheets in those old Freighter trailer were 4' & i think I can count nine of them (the 2 doors bugger it up a bit) making the Trailer 36' long...
But I have been wrong before, Just ask my Wife...lol

Been the photo was taken in 78 I think either 36 or 38 feet
And yes Freighter and Thermoking as mentioned already

More likely 36 feet as 38 feet trailers started around the time of tri axle trailers

Secong trailer I reckon is a company made job

Many thanks for all the answers and input, also to the length, really good read!

Here is an example for an 79 trailer, already an tri axle trailer: www.ownerdriver.com.au/detail/freighter-refrigerated-763374

Maybe somebody has some photos of an Freighter from the other side of the trailer to see more details as tanks (fuel/diesel/water), spare wheel carrier and so on?

Two year old advert> These now 40 year old metal clad trailers are very rare now, never seen one in commercial use. Not as high as modern trailers. The pics in the advert are as good as you will find anywhere.
