I have a 1992 Daihatsu  Delta V10D with a Toyota 3B motor in need of a head. I can't find a head but I found a  Toyota B motor and gearbox out of a Daihatsu for $600. My question is will the Toyota B and gearbox fit straight in ; engine mounts and wiring compatible? it is about 600 km away so can't just go and look at it. I know I will be dropping 10hp in power but it is a farm tipper and will rarely be in any gear above 3rd due to the hilly nature of the country around here. Or does anyone know where I can find a head?

The forum won't let me post a link to ebay.

Search on ebay for item 266295350554

It's a link to a new 3B bare head.

Is it a indirect injection head. 4 glow plugs.
This 3B head looks similar (in Melbourne)

Thank you but not the same . That is the later type with the tappet cover bolted around the outside, mine has 4 bolts through the centre of the tappet cover.

Ok, I thought the later 3B mk 2 had the 4 internal retainer studs for the rocker cover.

Just curious......Is it a 12v or a 24v engine, ??
is it indirect injection or direct injection. ??
Does it use the rotary pump or inline Kikki pump.??

24 volt
indirect injection
Kikki injector pump
apparently not the original engine

Interesting how they changed over the years. I had a 83' 3B V48 Delta. 24V was a pain when it came to headlights constantly blowing globes.

A little googling tells me a 1 before 3, 4, 5B means direct injection and the later blocks didn't have liners. never knew that, so I've learnt something new today.
Hope you can find the head you need.

I took the plunge and bought the B motor and gearbox, picking it up Tuesday. Thank you all for your interest and help.
