G'day steamnut

Yes they did make different weight ranges in the Beddies
I am not right up with the model numbers variations though.

I have seen various combinations:
16" / 20" wheels
4 and 5 speed gearboxes
Single and 2 speed diffs
6cyl. 214ci / 300ci 8 cyl. 253ci petrol engines
330cu / 500ci diesels, maybe leyland? 400ci

thats about all i have there..

You're probably right with the KM name............ I called mine a lot of other choice names.
Couldn't even keep festoon globes in the glovebox without them breaking!

sounds like they had the same ergonomics as a leyland i remember once as a passenger i was having a snooze on the hume highway with my head "rested" against the door window..needless to say after the truck hit a pothole i had swollen cheek for 3 weeks

..bruce 99 .. drove a TK furniture van in the early eighties for a crowd in thomastown (melb)...bloody great 10.00 -20's (rags) with an industrial 308 holden motor, freezing cold in the (draughty) cab and all through them cold months the cheapo wibroc style mirrors would rattle and shake for a long time in the morning before the steer tyres had properly warmed up..i guess due to the overhanging luton peak...

i always said to myself... ''what a bloody heap''.. but i guess she was long past her use by date, even for this crowd, all those (30) years ago..
