I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Yep, Southbound knew all about the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow on a stick. (a steel framework, actually)
I knew nothing about it but saw it on a holiday in New Zealand and had to stop the car and take a photo of what is probably the only Rolls Royce in the world that advertises a wrecking yard.
The article from the Waikato Times newspaper gives a lot of detail.

I had typed most of the next sentence when my computer "froze" and I had to close it and start again.
Just before that picture (heading south) in a small town I forget the name, maybe it is Tamahere (pronounced tam-a-heer-ee) or Cambridge, is a very nice cafe and shop selling good quality souveniers and specialty clothing, in a repurposed wooden building. It is known as The Pink Church, so I do not have to tell you what the building was built as, nor what colour it is.

OK, back to the subject, and Southbound's jug or does it represent the seed pod of a poppy?

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

And it's in the main street of a Victorian town.
