Hi,

I heard that the grassy area down the back is a soggy swamp so the racecourse is only letting the smaller trucks inside the 'compound' up around the buildings and the heaver and larger trucks and all tandem drives will be in the large car park to the left of the main gate.

...shift the whole lot to Lancefield or Broadford I say.....

We were told at the club meeting last Thursday that the organisers will have a final walk through of the whole area on the Wednesday before the event and will fine-tune their plans according to the condition of the various parts of the place.

I, for one, am happy to leave it to the people in charge of the event to make the appropriate decision.

Going Saturday afternoon meeting Ballarat guys at BP Caroline Springs on Western Hwy at 2:15pm if anyone interested

heading down Saturday afternoon. Not sure whether to go Heathcote, Tooboorac, then across through Puckapunyal to Seymour or head across through Tatura/Murchison east then down the Goulburn (or even Shepparton and down). either way it's then Seymour, Yea and onto the show. Either way you end up on Double lane highway for the busy portion of the trip/

I have used the Heathcote way before, hilly, twisty, fun to drive but lots of roos and people caught up to me in the lighter, faster XP and there was nowhere for them to overtake. I suspect the difference in distance going one of the other ways in the truck will be made up for by a higher average speed
