As i said with my joke last week there are no new jokes, you have probably heard them all before. Most jokes are so old that nobody knows where they came from or who first came up with them.

One exception is this one that is believed to have first been said by "Spike" (Terrence Edward) Milligan, the comedian born in India of Irish parents. Spike was the writer of the hugely successful radio comedy series "The Goon Show. He wrote several comical books about his fictional exploits in World War Two.

The joke goes:-
A man telephones an emergency service explaining that he and friends were out shooting and one man was hit and very seriously wounded and appeared to be dead.
The operator askes "Are you sure he is dead?"
There is the sound of a rifle shot and the hunter says, "Yes I am sure"

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Been thinking of this Climate change thing. I reckon that it has also affected gravity. As time passes, I find it harder to get up if I've been down on the ground for any reason. It must be increased gravity!!

Wee-Allis,
I tell everybody that the ground gets further away every year but maybe it is because of an increase in gravity. (or my body weight) Be like everybody else and blame the politicians!
