Sales tax at auctions??

When I look at auctions now I see "Victoria Sales Tax'" or "NSW Sales tax"........is this something new ?.....Is there a similar "Qld Sales Tax" ?

There should be no sales tax, that was what GST was all about. What they are probably saying is GST on items that are commercial assets ie owned by a company not individual personal property.

Should be the same in all states.

Probably the auctioneer is using an American platform - they have varying states sales tax there.
