I believe the trucks were AA series.

Yes they were. This one on Marketplace seems to be just a car based ute/trayback

AA Truck  below. (They were offered with wire wheels as well)

Just did a bit more searching and find the Canadians (all Australian delivered Fords) produced this "heavy" Pick-up on the lighter chassis with wood wheels and called it AA. The Americans seem to only have the heavy chassis named AA.

Our car for sale above could well be a Canadian light AA. Or just a standard A model with wood wheels fitted, which was probably the only difference anyhow.

The Model A was the car chassis, also used for light commercials.  The USA built AA, including those available in Australia, was a longer, heavier truck chassis with a longer wheelbase and a heavier rear axle and differential.  I think the gearbox was a heavier four speed as well.

I would be surprised if any heavier chassis were supplied with wooden spoked wheels from new.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I have seen at Clunes a restored AA truck with wood spoke wheels, they were still common here after the war, all that I remember had dished steel wheels with not enough dish to make duals.
