they did a photo shoot
they stood a camera on tripod on side of the road n took sum shots as the beast rolled by
the beast twaz a stock standard KW of the day ...... the wind blu the camera n tripod over
next the aerodynamic KW Anteater rolled by n the camera n tripod never moved with
all the wind turbulence ....... or lack there of

...yes Swishy .. In amongst all the carefully crafted shapes and curves, Kenworths' credo of the day said that you were never allowed external air filters on a T600...the precept being that, if allowed, the aerodynamic qualities of the design would be compromised or "spoiled"...

...You could get your external 'cleaners if you really wanted them...They just had to be ordered on the shape of truck that was the T650.....no ifs, buts, or maybe.......

And while we are Areo they place those littlr vertical tips on the wing to stop the air running off the end Sure the areo expert will find a photo of what I mean

Actually Swishy the last photo shows vortex generators.

They are designed to disrupt the airflow and make the air follow the shape they are flowing across.

The Mitsubishi Evo 10 (I think?) was the first car to use them on the road.

They are intended to make the air break up and stick to the rear window and flow over the bootlid and apply pressure to the spoiler mounted on the boot. Without the generators the spoiler would be in basically still air.

They can also be used on the front of a car.
