A bloke I used to work with for many years,
still goes shooting on a farm with a few sheds of stuff
that would be worth a fortune., amongst every thing
there is a brand new Rolls Royce Merlin engine
all wrapped up on a pallet, , with all the dyno specs...
where it had been test run ready for slotting
into a Spitfire.
The old fella would rather die than get rid of anything..

I used to be a truck driver,
but i am now not a truck driver ,
on a good day i can remember
that i used to be a truck driver.

Tec,
You some times wonder what happens to
this stuff when the relevant people pass on.
The old blokes father apparently was a bit
of a collector..

Not quiet a farm find, a post in the "where am I thread" reminded of this radial that is part of what remains of a plane that crashed at Mt Torbreck in Victoria

...Interesting wreckage dno...I'm genuinely surprised these remains are still out there in the bush, and especially being a (one of two ?) radial...she must've crashed years ago ...

I was heading to Bundaberg around this time last year when cops coming the other way pushed everyone to the side of the road, then comes the wide load, first a semi with the 2 wings on then a DC3, bugger me if I had known what was coming I would have had the camera out.
never forget the first flight on one, going to a juniot farmers camp with the school, out near Goodooga.
Bit turbulent, we all thought the wings were meant to move up and down in a flapping motion, 'cause they sure did a lot of it !!
Some amazing history in these old planes

84 Austral Tourmaster with 6V92 and now 7 speed Eaton-Fuller, converted to motorhome "Vanishing Point" after a favourite American movie.
3 Kw solar 800 Ah Lithium house battery pack, all engine cooling done by the sun. Water injection for hot days and hill climbs.
