Hi Andy, you're right the smile was there.

Many years ago I bought my first car, a 64 XM Falcon ute for $75.00, i quickly learnt it was much better to pay a bit more for something without rust rather than spend every available moment cutting out and repairing rust.

The criteria for the AB was as unmolested and original as possible. As much documented history as possible and with genuine information, and above all little to no rust. Mechanical and cracking issues much easier for me to fix. This one even came with 4 hub caps, a spare rear half shaft and what looks like a NOS complete head.

There is a lot to be said for things that have survived in a dry climate living most of their life in a shed.

spc383, I agree with your bias, I've always liked the look of the AB,C & D but also with a prefrence for the AB.

I have also had thoughts that the blue is a primer. But looking over the cab and front end I didn't see any evidence of the blue. The fire wall and underneath the floor pans is the sandy colour. The other observation is that the inner guards and the transmission floor panel are black.

The ID plate on the passenger door of our ute gives a paint code of L138, is this the same as yours?

I look forward to seeing photos of your 110.

Regards
Roger

I was wondering about mine when it was built because vic roads has it listed as 1966. I went and saw a guy at our local truck parts place and he has been in the game for a long time and has an incredible memory of all things inter. He asked what my chassis no was that is stamped into the left hand side of the chassis in front of the wheel. I said it was ab 18640 or around there and he said it would most definatly be a late one. There are some changes in the parts book numbers all well before the chassis no of mine. It also has seatbelts which makes me think it could be although they could of been fitted at any time. This is a wonderful forum with lots of people that may be able to help fill the gaps.

Hey RB,
I had a '69 C1600 that the old rego papers declared was a '75 model due to a paperwork stuff up. I dated the old girl off the stamps on the glass. I think It was explained to me in the build thread here .
Also, I'm a professional detailer and specialise in classics.
If you ever feel like dropping the inter up to Toowoomba for a weekend I can make the old girl look a million bucks. :D
