As I suspected, no butterfly lids.

Yer these Aussie trucks were based on the 1948-53 American truck. In 1955 they got a update with one piece windscreen and a grill that was something like the 1955 American truck. These cabs were used through to 1962

Open the doors, stick a couple of wide planks, about 2.5M long, through the door openings .. place a couple of old telephone books for cushioning between the planks and the upper door frame .. then hook slings around the ends of the planks, and lift away.

Ronnies on the money, telephone books spread it out well and protect the gutter. One thing I would add though, is once you've undone the cab mounts, stick a jack and a block of timber if need be, and make sure the mounts are free. I've seen a few cabs buggered by undoing the bolts and just reefing them off.

Lots of stuffing around with blocks of wood and trying different ways of lifting it without damaging anything have got it off. First try'd long RHS through door window's as i could'nt get doors open enough with the cab on the hoist. found this to load up the door hinges and catchs to much to give it a full load. So with blocks and planks and RHS got it underneath next to the cab mounts and it lifted away with out a fuss.
Do you think it will charge up ok it's only been parked awhile

I think the Aussie models were a year or two behind the US or Canadian ones.
