Just a normal H pattern then five and six follow on. They are a good box but a lot of guys say that the overdrive (sixth) is weak

I had heard of 6V53s being fitted in ACCOs ex factory, what truck is that plate from?

Interesting maybe a special build, in theory it should be a D1950 or D1930 as the 10 indicated petrol engine.

i almost bought a 6V53 in a acco (single axle) back in 1995..9'truck was a late 70s model)but to see one fitted in a D line is supprising i thought the biggest engine was avail in a c or d line was a cummins?

Thanks everyone for your help i got the old truck because i was after a 4.53 GM a real bonus geting the commer 6 speed box . The motor and box looks factory fitted it's been put in proply.I was going to wreck it but know i will keep a eye out for another C1500 single cab without rust fom out west and re cab it :)Thanks john

Hi david i bought the 51 cab back from kialla about 14 years ago.
We are tosing up about puting the 453 GM ni the F350 and put the 351 V8 in the wifes XC gs ute

Hey ole fart,
I see you are still getting around,
the air cleaner reminds me of the 453 i put in a tandem 7 series dodge, had no where else to put it, for a minite i throught it was the same truck when i saw that
if you put that donk in the 350 there is a remote oil filter that should fit that on gumtree, off a cummins, NEW that is the part that makes it difficult , Jubbie might have an adaptor, i have the whole kit n cabuddle and i am keeping it
