The base of a 9 HP Tangye being worked on at present and posted in Tractors and other old stuff section, from info on the net it could date around 1906.
The kerosene fuel seems to go by gravity to the suction valve casting and regulated with a tap, still learning on this.

Early 1911 Four HP Richard Hornsby hot bulb four stroke compression ignition, kerosene fuel.
Both inlet and exhaust valves are operated by cams on the side shaft, fuel is pumped in through a sprayer in head.
Came from an uncles farm, my cousin who would have been 85 this year had never seen it going. We had it running for over an hour on it's hundredth birthday.
For a load it is driving a GE air compressor ex tram car.
Both of these were for fixed on site [stationary] operation, transport wheels were an option.
David.

Before and after of a 6 foot David Shearer stripper harvester.
The owner bought a new 8 foot one and a Caterpillar 2 Ton tractor in 1928 so this one predates that.
With your 2 Ton Swishy we could go contracting!

The oldest thing we have is our 1924 Amilcar, this one is a replica of the one that set the 1924 speed record for Melbourne-Sydney. Next thing is a decent seating arrangement.
