Forums gone quiet! was created by Dave_64
Hi All,
Just going through some old posts and it occurred to me that the forums have gone a little quiet lately. Maybe it's the cold weather, or the grey nomads have migrated North, or perhaps it's something simple like blokes are out in the garage with the chip heater stoked up? Not too many new projects started? Money's a bit tight at the moment? Not even a decent rumour or a bit of controversy?

C'mon Guys! How about a few short stories/ a bit of B.S.ing even? Other than Billy P's reminiscing about the Putty Road and Maxidyne's first Nullabor run, the lighthearted yarns have dried up somewhat. Must be heaps of stories out there waiting to be told. You don't have to be a Shakespearean wordsmith to get your stories over, some of the better ones have been spun with plain simple "truckies" language.
Stuff all on TV, even the transport related shows don't get much support on here. So, drag out the laptop and shoot in a few paragraphs. The more outrageous the better, just make it lively.
Cheers, Dave_64

G'day from Southbound who looks most days but doesn't say much!
A while ago there was a picture of 2 new C500's, be interested to know if their chassis numbers were on record?
Cheers Ross

I would have to agree I think when the forum was updated a lot did not come back. One reason I think is because they could not be bothed to get their kids or grand kids to get them back on. A lot went to face book. I like the forum. I put a bit up on my resto and make a few comments on other posts, and have a look every couple of days. I put up a post the other night on my resto but got no replies. I thought it was interesting.

Fill,
You may not have received any replies to your post/s, but I would hazard a guess and say that quite a lot of blokes are following not only your topics, but a lot of others as well.
Keep at it, you will know if it's of interest to others it will show in the views section of a posting.
Good Luck, Dave_64

I'll have a go at one, but I cannot do it all at once. Is there a facility on this board to save a draft ?

I pop in daily for a look but since I have recently returned to working on trucks for a living I find my enthusiasm for talking about them after hours has waned a little as has my enthusiasm for working on my own truck projects. But while we are on the subject, hasn't this ad blue changed the face of modern trucks, I replace about one ad blue doser a week at a cost of $4-$8000 for something the size of a shoebox.

Personally
..................I think a lot of people like to read ,but are very hesitant to
put pen to paper , for what ever reason.
One reason not to post is the idea that some one will read your item,
and say what is this bloke talking about...........( i used to feel that way)
Not any more..........i try to be a bit selective in what i say.........
i always read the post again AFTER submitting......if you think you made
a boo boo ,, edit it & change things to what ever........
If you make some sort of mistake (we all do ) and some one picks you up
on it .....accept it for what it is.......no point in getting upset, ....mostly
they are just trying to assist you...........
If you put up a post and no body replies.......its not the end of the world,
think about it.........,you have probably done just that ,....read something,
then moved on.
Some people just have the knack of saying things that other people find
interesting,.......Thats life...........
Another thing is , most people like photos....................
SO...........just keep posting.........and all will be OK.

One other thing is .........some of the long time members tend to resist change,
(we really are all like that at times & it happens in all walks of life)
Just roll with the punches...............

I CAME INTO THIS WORLD WITH NOTHING & STILL HAVE MOST OF IT.........................

I used to be a truck driver,
but i am now not a truck driver ,
on a good day i can remember
that i used to be a truck driver.

GDay busman
..........................If you want to do an article of length.
just post it in small installments....when ever you get the time.......
Some times that works better than a long saga.........
Especially with an odd pic or two...........
