Apart from the obvious ones of the VT190 being 504 cubic Inchs versus 555 of the 555 & the VT being turboed. I can't really help you.
I assume you're wanting to do a Swap,Which shouldn't be too big of a Job (I think)

Gday mate

Thanks for the reply.

Ive got a 1986 1950d acco truck.
Ive been told its currently got a vt190 in it. Every 1950d ive seen has a 555 in it.

Mine is currently not running as its grabbed the crankshaft.

Im just wanting to know what to look for to make sure ive either got a vt190 or a vt555.

Thanks Dave

Dave, just go here, & create an account (it's free)

quickserve.cummins.com/info/index.html

Type in your Engine Number & it will tell you what you have...

It is my understanding that the only difference between the 504 and 555 is 1/2 inch of stroke, therefore only a change in the crankshaft is necessary. I have a 504 in my 358 Brockway and two 555's in the shed from a junkyard. Hope to make one runner out of the three..
Contact Ron Kirk of Grenfell NSW and he can answer all your questions.
