The thing that gripes me about these country and western style songs (not just back then but now) is how everyday Aussies come up with fake American accents.

Slim Dusty never felt the need unlike his fake accent son.

An American southern/western accent in a song with an Australian setting is BS.

Just my opinion.

Have to agree, Lang.
She's My Ute was the first I think I heard like that and wondered ....why?
There's a great one behind a youtube video, something like "boy in the Aerodyne". Would be great if he could hold the Aussie accent right through.

Jarrod.

During the photo shoot for Keep On Truckin' , Nev Nicholls was about to stand on the mudguard of the Mack with his boots on . Alan Lever , the truck owner quickly told him that wasn't going to happen.
some one asked " and why do we keep this crap"
The reason I held on to this particular album is if I ever won lotto , my dream would be to restore a Flintstone Mack and paint it exactly the same as on the cover of Keep on Truckin'. As written in" Oldfields old trucks' "Alan's wife Joy repurchased the Flintstone Mack and with the help of friends had it restored to as it is in the photo .
PS Still waiting to win a Lotto prize greater than $14.50.
