My truck ran over me was created by BillyP
.
.One hears of drivers getting run over by their own truck.......
It seems to happen far too many times and one wonders why............
Just to day in Sydney, a driver stopped his truck and got out to check his brakes ,.
( what ever that means) then has the truck roll over him resulting in him now in hospital
in a bad way...........
So how does this occur......
........................Billy......................

I CAME INTO THIS WORLD WITH NOTHING & STILL HAVE MOST OF IT.........................

I used to be a truck driver,
but i am now not a truck driver ,
on a good day i can remember
that i used to be a truck driver.

I have had a truck take off ( twice) when I thought the maxis were on.
Classic mistake is when a truck runs out of air and shudders to a halt is to get out to check trailer connections etc without applying the park brake. In the meantime pressure builds up again and they release.
Another time the strap of my bag caught the park brake handle ( Old Mercedes) and pulled it off when I was climbing out.
I have no idea what has happened here but best wait till those tasked with investigating it decide.

They said early this morning he'd gotten out to inspect his brakes as they were dragging, sounds like the classic mistake mentioned above.

Im not hard on people that make a mistake god knows my life has had a fare few

People seem to forget we all have to learn some how and we all make mistakes no matter how experienced we are
Sometimes experience can make it worse as we become more blahzay

Billy,

Two years ago I ran myself over and ended up in Hospital with 3 fractures to my Pelvis and a broken Tailbone.

The Doctor said I should be dead.

I wasn't checking the brakes but whilst a funny story the ending could have been pretty ugly.

As it was I spent 3 months in bed.

Heard one years ago about a mechanic adjusting brakes, maxis off, in gear and the truck started to lose air pressure. He asked Old Mate to crank it up and you know what happened next.
When I'm working under a truck the keys go into my pocket.

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Its easy to run yourself down when crane outriggers lift tyres clear of the ground and the truck skids on the outrigger feet.Been dragged into the next yard hanging onto the tie rail.Often happens as the crane swings the load, and load transfers from one outrigger to the other.

.
.There is no doubt we all learn by our mistakes.......in the old days some one said to you
there she is go to it..........I don't know how many times I said to myself. .bloody hell,
remind me not to do that again..........
Also , when I was with Liquid Cartage ...Brambles took them over and the transport boss
was Ian Baker, a bloke came in looking for a drivers job,,, so talking with Ian he happened
to say ,I never make mistakes, to that Ian said sorry carnt put you on as you would have my
job in a couple of weeks................
I suppose we hope we can all walk away from our mistakes.......
