For those who don't know,there is one of Simons national carriers v1271 powered k125 has been unearthed,And is under full restoration to pre delivery condition.thanks jumbo.we under control & flying straight now

me thinx most of the V12-71 were wimpz
the ones eye heard of were derated heaps
probly 375Hp
wen U could normally get 476hp or more for automotive use
guess n bout 1200ftLb torque
B 4 the 92 series twaz released bout 1974 all they ran from the Jimmy diesel stable twaz the 8V-71 @ 318HP n 860ftLb torque
otheres may B mor precise on me 2 cents worth
but the info iz tax free 2 day

thats correct cummins do have a big snail bolted on the exhaust ;) with the V12-71 series i was expecting 500 draughthorses + :-[

G'day we were running 12-71s in our underground trucks at one stage and I seem to remember them being derated to 500hp :-? but I could be wrong, don't remember the torque figures though. Pretty sure they were derated to keep smoke levels under control

or con rods and main bearing caps inside the block!!
and this was before oh&s made hi-viz vests mandatory so victims would stand out in the oil slick.....
