I have been a daily watcher of this great forum for several years now and enjoy it all. Having just retired after too many years in too many jobs, I find I have the time to add a little something at times.

Years ago, during the '80s and early '90s, I was a contract driver for Channel nine, delivering outside broadcast trucks between locations Australia wide. The furthest north was Port Douglas and the furthest west was Perth.
They had a Bedford Pantech which was based on a KM series, but the cab had been removed from the floor up and an old style pan built on. The ABC had one similar.

Now to getto the topic, they kept blowing the 500 diesel on the longer runs, so engine and box out and in with a 6v53 and 610RR. It was sure fun to drive, when using the two sped diff to show off. I remember rattling the shop windows in Collins Street Melbourne with the 4inch straight out side pipe.
Cheers, Steve.

these are about the only different fronts, that would be long enough for a 8V53

that model was the P5000 or P3320....there is a couple of P4320 ,s in oz, they are a heavier rated truck with slipper front springs instead of shackells so paul did you have a connection to a truck with a 8V53 in it
