things been a bit quiet here but some shiney new parts turned up today :). "time to fit the mudgaurds" (there are some words i never want to hear again). this part of the rebuild has caused the most swearing by far but 2 hrs later and 1 (yes 1) is on still have to fit the mud flap but here is a couple of pics. to everyone that has yet to do this note the very accurate way of spaceing it out ;D

final adjustment is yet to be made so no knocking me yet actually no picking on the mudgaurds at all ;)

Good on ya Andy..
Pritty simple job.....NOT!..

Sometimes it can be a real pain as there is always something where that bracket needs to be..
And what about using little timber blocks as spacers, forgetting they are under there and backing out for the piccys and crunching the guards when the blocks get caught on the support brackets!

A word of advice.....
Take them off now....move them to a safe house until the whole job is finished!
Or someone is goin to use them as a bench, if even only to rest a fizzy drink on...it will end in tears

keep on truckin

chocs 8-)

Thanks chocs! We did mention that tonight once the mud flaps are on they will go to my other shed out of harms way. Sounds like the blocks of wood won round 1 with you before ;D. And your right about them damm brackets, every which way you went to mount them there was a rivet or spring in the way, any way they should be sorted by tomorrow 8-)

The other way to look at yours swishy is that you have gone to a lot of trouble to hide the mounting brackets! ;) ;)

...fair dinkum fellas .. when it comes to the prime mover i'd be happy with NO drive guards...NO mudflaps and NO tail lights to get bashed from general wear and tear, knocked by the forkie, or ...especially in the old days..a bloody blowout from a rotten old rag tyre retread that had done too many miles....

...aaahh for the good old days......
