Been a while since I have seen a 953 KW desert truck.
Pic in the Toprun set of pic's, Last one I worked with had a 12V71 in it with Clark transmission. Will have to go digging in the photo pile and see what I can find

Tongue in cheek but you chaps don't even begin to imagine how close you are to ME reality, lol. In this case however I'm fairly certain this was one of the drivers enjoying some ME sun in a rest area filled with only Friderici trucks, where no traffic was expected!

Hamish,
I take it none of these Henschels ever got down under?
Below some more Friderici K100 fleet pics:
The Aerodynes (or some of them) were still working in 2008, I encountered one going past Vienna back then. I don't know whether you can even drive 8V-92 equipped trucks legally in Austria anymore due to emission laws. They are restoring one K100 though for their collection, this much I'm aware of.
They also had these fitted with a steering rearmost axle:
Pics from this chap's page (French only):

Hey Tatra, those KW's don't look like they've got enough air cleaners for a 2 stroke Detroit. All the 6V92's and 8V92's here had 2 air cleaners.

Cam,
That's the one which is being restored. Unless I'm completely wrong, this is a DD 8V-92T... You can see the filter arrangement behind. You have to remember those were EU spec which has something to do with it...
