John what do you bet she was fitted with the semi auto box?
Slow diffs and semi auto box was the end for many turbo 680’s.
Blokes ran them flat out on the governor and then accidentally bumped the split button, over revved and they threw rods out the left side. Probably OK in a bonneted truck but a bit scary in the ERGOs.
No computers back then to lock out down shifts at inappropriate road speeds.

The auction must have been early 1990s.......Transfield was a great company, but the owner had three wives/3 families...and when he died ,that caused the breakup of the company ...several times........They also used to buy everything came up ex military......whcn trucks stopped running ,which had to pretty bad, they would cut off the back ends for pipe jinkers or pole trailers.
