I CAME INTO THIS WORLD WITH NOTHING & STILL HAVE MOST OF IT.........................
I used to be a truck driver,
but i am now not a truck driver ,
on a good day i can remember
that i used to be a truck driver.

I think that's a 1936, or '37 Studebaker.

Billy I just noticed in one of your photos you posted on 23/10 there is a disc brake and caliper attached to a long shaft sitting just above the diff.
Any idea what it was for?

Hello Zuffen
The disc brake is almost older than the Motor Car therefore it could be anything. My 1942 DiamondT has a disc brake on the tailshaft. Also the 980 has "S" cam drum brakes with a profile exactly the same as the "S" cam on our current production semi trailers.
Thinking about it we had the same basic technology 100 + years ago, little has changed, sure it is more refined but the basis of the device is still one or the other, you can have a drum brake or a disc brake, both are more than 100 years old
Now that is why we collect old Trucks because there is so much to be found in the amazing design skills the engineeres had back when there where drawing boards and slide rules.
Just me rambling on and wondering if there will be the same mind set in the future as we all become more dependant on the very device I have just typed in this post.
