The veteran car club has an annual eighteen mile run from the old Perth GPO to Armadale, looking at pics of 2003 there were two Brush cars. Think the chassis also wood as is the front axle.

Ferguson was with Birtles, who because of his fame as a cross country bicycle rider, was foisted on him by sponsors. They did not get on.

Of course for most people Birtles gets the credit but at the time Ferguson the owner and driver for almost the whole trip said shortly afterwards, "Francis Birtles started the trip knowing absolutely nothing about motor cars and despite the journey, has maintained his position".

Birtles obviously picked up his game but it was an inauspicious start.

Lang.... Just finished reading a story about Birtles.... I think you got a mention in the acknowledgements ... A very good read... But Birtles had an even more interesting life ... Never one to shy away from things

Thats interesting about the Brush..........seems it was a solid little car............
although one would have to be on the lookout for termites............heres a few more pics............
