Wheat trucks 20's and 30's

While looking for stuff for Colin's wheat stack thread on Tractors I came across enough truck stuff for their own thread.

Some of these machines are seriously overloaded!

This is said to be he very first experimental bulk wheat truck in WA in the 20's

Don't you just love the rope tensioners in use in the 4th last photo.

Ray my old man still used pipes to tension up his ring ropes on his loads of wool up til about 6 or 7 years ago

Here are some more interesting wheat carriers.

This one proves there is nohing new under the sun. Date 1915 horse-drawn tracked trailer.

Do you reckon this one mets the warranty claim restrictions on overloading?

Is this a semi or a fifth wheeler. Driver does not look too comfortable.

Those cues lined up in some of those photos, I wonder if they knew who went next , There is a lot of old photos out there to be found, keep digging them out Lang if time permits, good stuff. In one of those it looks like the local constable is checking out the tyre on one of the trucks. Tooths Sheaf Stout keep you ????? 1st photo

The AMP (Australian Motorists Petrol - changed to AMPOL post war) sign dates the photo about 1937
