Yeo, we are on tge road again. Left Shitme this morning and headed for Bathurst. Spotted this electrickery device in front of us.

    Outside West Wyalong we stopped for a cuppa. This pair wete sound asleep but took some pics. To me the vertical strip of wind deflectors are facing the wrong way.

    I think the idea is about creating turbulence to make it more slippery. Similar to the idea of making the whole side rough like shark's skin which was proven to have a benefit (but never produced commercially)

    Vortex generators.

    They do work but only at fairly high speed.

    You will see them on the roof of Mitsubishi EvoVIII/IX vehicles.

    They are designed to break up the air flow and make it flow down the rear window and over the high mounted wing.

    And yes they do work, but I question their use on trucks.
