The 12 V 92 is a lot of power but not a lot more than the last of the E9 Macks
A lotta wild horses to contain though

I'd say plenty of this . . .
"Articulation refers to vertical wheel travel, i.e. how far up and down the suspension allows each wheel to move. The better the articulation, the better the chances of the wheel remaining in contact with the ground, thus maintaining positive traction."

Paul, I was wondering if it was some type of Steyr? (Is that the one of which there are a few out here, late models?)
Jarrod.

It's the chassis of the 'Pathfinder' airfield crash truck, seen with its designer Bill Mills over 50 years ago, they were designed to cater for the larger jets that were being introduced. My job was to road test them to see that they met the ICAO requirements for performance, also demonstrate them for the customer which included cross country and track and whatever the customer wanted to see the vehicle do.
Here's one being built
We built about a hundred of these for airports all over the world. This one was for Oakland USA
These were at JFK in New York
This one was going to Poland, I took it to the local carnival in 1974. One of the Polish ones was retired after 37 years!
Here's a South African one at full speed on the test track.

Here's the lineup at Singapore
A view of the test slopes at the test track, 1in 4 nearest, then 1 in3, 1in 2 and 1 in 1.5.
These could do a hillstart on the 1 in 3 at 38 tons all up weight
Like other manufacturers in those days we would lend vehicles to the Farnborough Air Show to provide extra cover for the display. Here's a couple of pics of a Singapore truck I took to Farnborough in 1976 alongside Concorde G-BBDG which is now in the Brooklands museum.
