A walk along the Newell ... with a camera.

Jodi and I took the dogs for a walk out to the golf course and back this arvo and I decided to take the camera along. The results are below. Some nice gear but shooting between the trees from the winding path was a matter of timing and hoping for the best. There wasn't always a big enough gap as you'll see!

As ever, I haven't done anything with these pics other than reduce the file size so they load a bit quicker. You see what I saw. Happy to forward large files to anyone for personal use. If anyone knows these trucks and/or their drivers, I'll also be happy to forward them a copy.

First up, a Fruithaul KW at the western end of the West Wyalong bypass.

Right at the junction with the Newell, a tidy (and I think local as have seen it around a fair bit) Sterling.

Davidge Trident from Temora heading south on the Newell. Got a great shot of this heading towards us - pin sharp it was - except for the bloke in the white Prado that decided to stop in my gap between the trees. Ah well.

Fred's KW heading north among the trees...

Kitco Connie emerges from the trees.

GTS KW K104B in the trees! Quite like this pic as, despite the tree, the truck is sharp. LOL.

My favourite for the day.

Approaching the T-junction at the WW golf club, southbound.

...and coming the other way.

Booth trucks always look good.

Never seen an ostrich and emu trailer before ... or at least one sign-written as such. Couldn't tell if he was loaded.

Good pics Andy, doesn't Jodie question your sanity when you whip the camera out when your going for a walk? I reckon my missus would try and stick the camera up my freckle if I tried it, LOL. It's funny how a lot of womenfolk don't quite see it as a past time, as opposed to something serious, like say, shopping......

Thanks, mate. She's used to it now, Cam, but I usually take pics of anything of interest when the camera's out. Figured the pics of flowers and the KW-eating spider wouldn't be of much interest so didn't post them (weren't that good anyway).

It's when I chuck a u-turn in the car, slam on the brakes or duck down a side street - then she begins to question it. :) Having said that, it's often her spotting something in a shed or driveway that is the cause of such things. ::)

Andy,

Came across this truck in Dubbo - stopped at the lights at the bottom end of Macquarie Street (across the road from Officeworks). He was not loaded from the pace he made off the mark from the lights - even if he was, a trailer load of emus would not weigh even 5 tonne! Even then, the Detroit Diesel Series 60 would not have felt the strain!

Going by the way he went around the corner from the bypass, Joe, I was hoping he wasn't loaded either. Given he's the professional birdman, and heading home, a fair bet to say he was empty.

Ostrich transport would be different to say the least, -Had a bloke come to the office one day, asked him how come his strides were hanging off him in shreds. Said he worked at the ostrich farm and they had been loading. They grab em by the wings from the front and back em in, kicking all the way. Apparently they usually wear shorts and take a Dettol bath after!
