Bugly's new project - a CAT 2T Tractor was created by Bugly
Bugly's new project ... should be a winner!
I was stooging around the internet, and happened across a post on a forum that was advertising to give away (FREE!!!) a Cat 2T tractor. There was a picture of the various bits and pieces, however it had to be picked up from Victoria, some place called Melbourne or something. Hope I can find it! Plurry long way away for a Darwin lad, but where there's a will there's a way ...
Later ... YAHOOOO - yes!!! (punching the air with glee!!!). I was lucky enough to score the Cat 2T tractor!!!
Should be an interesting project, apparently the tractor has been completely disassembled and left lying around under the trees down the back of some farm in east Melbourne.
Here's a photo of the track frame parts, lying amongst the undergrowth. Part covered in rocks and other vegetation, hope they are all still serviceable.
Not far from the track frame was what looked like one complete track, and a whole heap of other grouser plates and track parts ...
I even found the seat frame, but obviously the upholstery was rutted. Frame was in surprisingly good nick, check out the photo ...
Had a kick around in the undergrowth, and gathered all of the likely-looking panels and plates, nuts, bolts and anything else that looked that it might belong to the tractor ...
Even looks like the engine cover was mostly there, and lying under a few rocks was an old heavy radiator. Cross fingers its still OK! I'll take various photos of the restoration along the way and post them here.

See, backloads DO pay!
Found a bloke down in Melbourne who for a couple of cartoons was willing pick up the tractor with his tilt tray truck, and for a couple of cartoons more to truck the tractor all the way to Darwin! Backload, see?
Here's a photo of the tilt tray just after he had loaded all the bits, and before he chained them down.
Can't wait to start on the resto!

The tilt tray made good mileage overnight, and I was lucky enough to have a photo at sunrise sent to me when it was halfway to Darwin.
Can't wait!

Into the workshop for a quick scrub up and a coat of paint. Tiny wee jigger! Now the assembly begins ...
